Among the internet there are generally 2 camps of developers. The open source folks and the closed, proprietary, group  In the last 5 years the web has progressed from a mainly close-sourced product offerings to open source software that is responsible for many of our favorite web apps. The open-source camp has fueled the web 2.0 movement where the business model is to attract a large group of users and monetize their product by advertising. This is exciting because it allows people as web surfers to have access to many great online apps at little to no cost. Some of our favorite sites are below…
